Antony Carr University of Sussex, United Kingdom CELL BIOLOGY New Finding	The findings of this paper suggest a novel mechanism that negatively modulates recombination during yeast DNA repair. Purified Srs2 helicase was shown to act on ssDNA to reverse the formation of Rad51 filaments. These data, together with those from Krejci et al. (Nature 2003, 423:305 [PMID:12748644]), provide mechanistic insight into srs2 mutant phenotypes. Evaluated 18 Jun 2003
